In a recent attack from the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), it alleged that the practice of destabilising government is going in the states which are not ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), creating a stain in the National Unity.
This statement came from the Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana, where the Sena slammed Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, alleging that he has crushed democratic values, laws and political culture. This criticism is not something which has come up suddenly but amid an ongoing letter fight between the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
A recent letter written by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray asking him to hold a two-day special assembly session because of the recent incident of rape in the city of Mumbai has led to a series of allegations and blame game between both parties.
One more reason that has triggered the Shiv Sena against the Governor is when he returned an ordinance on the Other Backward Class (OBC) quota, stating that this decision should be taken by the Supreme Court and then a decision might be taken on the Other Backward Class (OBC) quota.
The
Shiv Sena while asking Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari stated “Is it appropriate for the governor to destabilise the government he administered oath to, the country’s federal structure has taken a beating in the last two years. The Prime Minister does belong to the country, even if his party is not ruling the states. Doing something like destabilising is a stain on the national unity.”
When questioned
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) about the Shiv Sena’s attack on its party through its mouthpiece Saamana, they replied that they would not react to the issues which the Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana raises as a policy.
