BJP attacks the MVA government on the constitution of IT award after Rajiv Gandhi
As the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election 2022 approaches, all parties gear up their presence in the state. In a recent counter-attack to the BJP government the Shiv Sena constituted an IT award after Former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi two days after the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the name change of Rajiv Gandhi award to Major Dhyan Chand award. After the name change was announced a series of the allegation was led out by the BJP Government stating that the Shiv Sena party has double standards and on the other hand the Shiv Sena alleges the BJP government playing low-level politics by raising issue like this.

The decision of constituting an IT award after the name of late Rajiv Gandhi was taken by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government which constitutes the Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP. The declaration of this award by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government came after the announcement of the BJP led central government to rename the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award after hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.

Ram Kadam a BJP leader in a statement stated that there is no objection from our side as to why the government has renamed an award after a big national leader and the Former Prime Minister but the main concern is that why this decision was taken two days after the Khel Ratna award was named after Major Dhyan Chand. Blaming the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government further the BJP leader stated that instead of supporting the government’s decision to name Khel Ratna after Major Dhyan Chand the opposition has not only raised objections but also named this step as politics.
