Further, he alleged that the state government has just given false promises and nothing else to the people.

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) too was against the decision of Maharashtra Bandh, which according to the ruling party was a great success as most of the shops and bus services were closed in the city of Mumbai and some neighboring areas. The buses of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) and many of the black and yellow cabs too were paused. The Railway station for local trains could be seen full with passengers as due to Bandh commuter had to take suburban train services.

The road transport stated that there was no effect in the bus travels as they were running according to the schedule and no complications were recorded the whole day. The Mumbai police were seen in every nook and corner in wake of Maharashtra Bandh, the three parties in the alliance, Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) requested the citizens to support this decision of Maharashtra Bandh given expressing their solidarity towards the farmers who died in Lakhimpur Kheri Uttar Pradesh.
