The BJP has applauded the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the suspension of 12 of its lawmakers, while MVA partners have stated that the Speaker and legislature secretariat would decide on the next course of action. The apex court's ruling is "another stiff slap" in the face of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress for its "unconstitutional, unethical, unjust, unlawful, and undemocratic conduct," according to BJP Leader Devendra Fadnavis.

"From the outset, we've maintained that suspending our MLAs for such a long period to create a false majority was utterly unconstitutional and a flagrant misuse of authority, and the Hon SC has upheld our position," he said. He went on to say that it wasn't just about these 12 MLAs, but also about the more than 50 lakh persons who live in these 12 constituencies.

One of the 12 suspended legislators, BJP legislator Ashish Shelar, said the Thackeray government could have avoided this ridiculous conversation about Maharashtra if their application for reversal of suspension had been considered during the assembly season. "However, the Thackeray government's ego is at an all-time high. 'It's devolved into an arbitrary government," he said.

Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena politician, said the state assembly had the authority to suspend legislators. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have the authority to suspend members of Parliament. "Speaker has the right to speak." The law and the Constitution are followed when making decisions. He believes that the suspended legislators and the BJP should reflect on their actions.

The 12 BJP legislators were suspended for alleged rowdy behaviour, according to state NCP President and Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil. "In this context, the Assembly Speaker and the parliamentary secretariat will make appropriate decisions," he added, adding that the apex court verdict was not a slap. He underlined that the suspension was not based on political animosity. "The speaker of the legislative assembly will decide once the Supreme Court's written order is ready," NCP Chief Spokesman Nawab Malik stated. The speaker, not the administration, decided to suspend 12 BJP legislators."
