Uddhav Thackeray, the Shiv Sena's President and Chief Minister, has rejected a collaboration with the AIMIM, stating that the offer must have come from the BJP's estranged affiliate to discredit the Shiv Sena's Hindutva. Thackeray insisted that the Shiv Sena, which is leading the Maha Vikas Aghadi government alongside its new allies, the NCP and Congress, had not abandoned Hindutva, but had just split from the BJP. Thackeray ordered his Shiv Sainiks to expose the BJP's Hindutva as opportunism, claiming that the BJP has been utilizing Hindutva for politics and power.

Thackeray told party MPs and District Chiefs in a virtual address that they must be ready to fight the BJP on all fronts. He urged them to defy the BJP's attempts to demonise the Shiv Sena's saffron and portray the party as pro-Muslim. "Go to all the villages and demonstrate to them that we are Hindus and will stay Hindus until we die." Also, inform the public that the BJP is neo-Hindu and is exploiting Hindutva for political gain," he urged. His speech was significant since the party will launch its 'Shiv Sampark Abhiyan' in the state from March 22 to 25, to significantly strengthen the party's organisation by reaching out to people and attracting youths into the fold.

"Whether we are in power or not," he stated, "we will not abandon Hindutva." "Determine the opposition's policy. The BJP has nothing to show for the eight years it has been in power, so it criticises its opponents. There was no 'glorious' triumph in Uttar Pradesh. Under Uttar Pradesh, the BJP created a false impression that Hindus were in danger. The seat share of the Samajwadi Party has also increased. People are being hypnotised and an illusion is being created," Thackeray remarked.

Thackeray stated that the Shiv Sena should take all elections seriously and be prepared for them, from panchayat to Parliament. "Be prepared to fight for victory in seats won by the BJP." Go to the countryside and forcefully present the Shiv Sena's point of view to counter the BJP's ruse," he urged, adding that he would shortly go on a whirlwind tour throughout Maharashtra.

"The Shiv Sena is referred to as the 'Janaab' Sena." Take a look at the timeline. After the AIMIM made its offer, the BJP retaliated with a storm of criticism. They (AIMIM) bend their heads at Aurangzeb's tomb. We are not powerless in the way that the BJP is. "We can't go with AIMIM," he stated emphatically. He reminded the BJP that it had joined hands with Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti, who had opposed Afzal Guru's death and shared power with them. He maintained that the Shiv Sena will not join the AIMIM if it were to achieve power.
