War of words between Shiv Sena and BJP as BJP worker booked for molestation against a woman
As the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections approach, the tussle between parties seems to grow aggressively. In a recent case, which has brought the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in an embarrassing situation, when one of its workers was allegedly found molesting a woman in a Municipal Corporator’s office on the day of Independence Day, last year.

This case has come at a time when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government were already in a series of wars of words over the recent Sakinaka rape case and murder in the city of Mumbai. Now, this has given the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government headed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, a topic for new series of attacks against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In a recent war of words between the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the Governor had demanded a special session of the State Legislature for the discussion of rising cases of rape and molestation in the city of Mumbai, which had triggered the Shiv Sena, and in a very aggressive response, the Chief Minister counter attacked the Governor by stating, that the Centre should arrange a special session at the parliament to discuss this issue.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered on Wednesday in an incident which allegedly was held in the Vazira Naka office of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Municipal Corporator Anjali Khedkar. As per the complaint that has been lodged by the complainant women, she named a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) civic war leader who had promised her that he would help her join the party, after which she was called in his office and then was allegedly molested on the evening of August 15, 2020. When after the incident she tried to file a complaint, she was not heard to.

In the meantime, which does not come as a surprise, that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government a coalition of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) swiftly raised this issue and demanded action to be taken against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker. After which Mayor Kishori Pednekar of the Shiv Sena party stated that soon she would be visiting the woman and the police officers dealing with the case.
