Even three months after the new administration was established, the Maharashtra government has decided to keep providing Y plus security coverage to all 41 MLAs and 10 MPs who support Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, an official said on Monday. Based on the information provided by the intelligence department, this conclusion was made. The state police attended a review meeting last week and agreed to keep providing security for these lawmakers.

"The state home department has agreed to keep providing Y+ protection to all 41 MLAs and 10 MPs who are affiliated with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The intelligence department's input was used to make the judgement "a police officer stated. Under Y+ security, a security van and four security professionals will work in two shifts to guide the protectee. The "categorised" security protection for 25 members of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, which includes the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress, has lately been lifted by the Maharashtra government.

Several former Cabinet Ministers are among those who lost their security protection. The previous chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray, and his family continue to be protected by security. Sharad Pawar, the head of the Nationalist Congress Party, and his family, including his daughter and Baramati Lok Sabha Member Supriya Sule, have maintained their security protection, while some other NCP leaders, such as Jayant Patil, Chhagan Bhujbal, and incarcerated Anil Deshmukh, have lost theirs. They have previously served as home ministers.

Ajit Pawar, the leader of the opposition in the Assembly, and Dilip Walse- Patil, a fellow NCP leader and the former Home Minister under the previous MVA administration, have also been granted "Y-plus-escort" protection. The other leaders who lost their classified security cover were Bhaskar Jadhav (of the Shiv Sena), Dhananjay Munde (of the NCP), Sunil Kedare (of the Congress), Narhari Zirwal (of the NCP), and Varun Sardesai (of the Shiv Sena, Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Eknath Khadse (of the NCP), Anil Parab, and Sanjay Raut (both Shiv Sena UBT).
