'Understand the severity of the matter,' Sharad Pawar urges the Centre, following the death of a Karnataka student in Kharkiv, Ukraine

Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), expressed his condolences for an Indian student killed in shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on Tuesday, and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government to "understand the gravity of the situation.
 
The former Union Minister took to Twitter to say, "My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of our Indian student Naveen Shekharappa, who was killed in a shelling strike in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Thousands of our students are stranded in Ukraine due to severe weather and a lack of food."
 
"I implore the Central Government and External Affairs Minister, Shri S. Jaishankar Ji, to recognize the gravity of the issue, as well as the students' and their families' urgent suffering and distress. Naveen Shekarappa Gyanagoudar, the student, was from Chalageri in the Haveri district of Karnataka. Gyanagoudar's relatives and friends received condolences from the Congress party. It also urged the government to speed up the evacuation of Indians trapped in Ukraine's civil strife.
