At the ongoing Navratri Festival in Tembhi Nakka in Thane, Rashmi Thackeray, the wife of former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, offered prayers to the goddess Ambe on Thursday. It should be noted that Thane is a stronghold of the current CM, Eknath Shinde. The mandal was crowded with Uddhav Thackeray supporters hoping to catch a glimpse of Rashmi Thackeray. shouting support for the "genuine" Shiv Sena and Uddhav.

To prevent any disruption of law and order or clashes between the two factions, a heavy bandobast was stationed at the scene. Rajan Vichare, Priyanka Chaturvedi, and Kishori Pednekar, three Rajya Sabha members, were in attendance with Rashmi Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray said the saffron flag has to be in one's heart as well as their hands earlier in the day, taking a shot at the Bharatiya Janata Party and the group led by Eknath Shinde.

Thackeray has been charged by the BJP and the Shinde group as betraying Hindutva's goals in order to gain power by allying with the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party. "This is an opportunity given to us by God to save democracy in the country and preserve Hindutva," Thackeray said in a speech to his party members at his home. "The saffron flag does not have to be just in one's hands, it has to be in one's heart. It is in my heart." Thackeray urged his supporters to behave properly at the Dussehra rally he will address on October 5 at Shivaji Park.
