The Uddhav Thackeray-led faction of the Shiv Sena now has a new electoral emblem, while the Eknath Shinde camp has been asked to provide more options by the Election Commission. Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray will be the new name of his organisation, whereas Eknath Shinde's party will now go by the name Balasahebchi Shiv Sena.

The Thackeray group has adopted the "Flaming Torch" (Mashaal) as its symbol. Both sides submitted their preferred party names and insignia to the ECI earlier in the day in preparation for the November 3 by-election for the Andheri East seat.
