An unholy alliance based on uncompromising moral values and tainted political ideologies is always doomed.  Sachin Vaze, Paramir Singh and Anil Deshmukh were the ones who shattered the destructive alliance with Maha Vikas Aghadi.  Police officers are mobilized to protect the mafia and the ‘hafta’ and engage in state-sponsored terrorism - the face of the MVA is completely lost and the direct impact will be the election to the country’s richest municipality.  It will take place in 2022.

The BJP is sure to be the biggest beneficiary of the chaos created by the three corrupt parties.  In the last BMC election, the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance won 179 seats, while the Congress and NCP only manage to won 31 and 21 seats respectively. The Shiv Sena has never been strong in the BMC and has always relied on the BJP to form a majority.

As for the MVA, the parties have already hinted that each will fight alone.  In December last year, the Shiv Sena had signalled the dissolution of the Congress alliance when Sanjay Ratnam called on the Centre and the Congress to oppose him. The seal of approval came in February, when Nana Patel, the newly-appointed Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president, argued that the Congress was going it alone.
