The Congress party, which is a junior partner in the Maha Vikas Aghadi administration, issued a strong warning on Sunday, saying that if the NCP continues to entice its leaders and cadre, it will apply the Tit for Tat policy. The Congress party welcomed 20 NCP corporators from Parbhani in the Marathwada region into its fold today. This happened just days after 28 Congress members of the Malegaon Municipal Corporation joined the NCP. 18 Congress corporators from Bhiwandi's civic body had already defected to the NCP, generating a rift between the two dominant parties.

Without identifying the NCP, State Congress Chief Nana Patole stated that his party will not remain silent and will seek to recruit NCP leaders and workers. In the presence of Patole and Public Work Minister Ashok Chavan, 20 corporators from Parbhani joined the Congress party, as did NCP office bearers from Parbhani, Aurangabad, and Nanded in Marathwada.

"Our Maha Vikas Aghadi allies are furious. If the seniors (without name NCP due to a large number of legislators) make a mistake, we have demonstrated tonight what the younger ones are capable of," Patole remarked. Every party, Patole said, has the freedom to grow and solidify. "We used to question allies while inducting their representatives into Congress, but not with the others." There is no such thing as competition. "Congress is not enticing other party members with promises of incentives," he added, adding that there was no schism among Maha Vikas Aghadi's supporters.
