To ease curbs, MVA striking deals: BJP, Shiv Sena states it as conspiracy
Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has attacked its opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray of alleged financial deals with industrial and commercial sectors for the relaxation from pandemic curbs.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Minister Ashish Shelar claimed that the Rajya Sabha MP’s son-in-law has been working between theatre owners and the Uddhav Thackeray-led the government to make a deal on relaxation of curbs. When asked about these allegations by the opposition, the Shiv Sena stated that these are nothing but a conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to defame our ruling government. All the decisions on lifting curbs are only taken when an extensive discussion is done.

“After there is a series of meeting with the representatives of certain associations with the government officials, after which they are given relaxations. A meeting was done with the representatives of the Hospitality industry after which permission was granted to them. Bar, pub operators met government officials, after which they were allowed to open their shutters. Similarly, theatre owners and their associations are being approached for a deal for permission. The son-in-law of a Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP is actively involved in it,” said Shelar.

Further alleging the state government, Shelar stated, “The people who cannot afford to agree with these kinds of deal with the government have been deprived of their livelihood. As the Marathi drama artists are not able to pay the required favors to the government, the government doesn’t pay any attention to them. Small vendors like flower, agarbati sellers who stand outside the mandir or any other worship place are struggling hard for their livelihood.
