Theatre Representatives meet Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut demanding resumption of Theatres in Maharashtra
In a recent appeal from the Maharashtra Government were representatives of major theatre chains visited Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in the city of Mumbai and urged for resumption of theatres in Maharashtra. The people attending included Dr. Jayantilal Gada, Chairman and Managing Director of Pen Studious and Sanjay Marudhar, From Pen Marudhar.

In the discussion, the Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, assured the representatives and expressed his support towards the film industry and stated that soon a solution would be found. Among the representatives were Kamal Gianchandani, the President of Multiplex Association of India and CEO, PVR Pictures, Alok Tandon CEO, Inox leisure Ltd. Devang Sampat the CEO, Cinepolis India and Thomas Dsouza-Sr VP Programming, PVR Cinemas.

It becomes very important for this industry to grow rapidly as it is estimated to lose Rs 4800 crore since March last year, and it becomes important because the cinema screens in the state of Maharashtra, employs a large section of the population. Lakhs of people are employed in the Cinema, Multiplexes, Studious and shutting it down since a very long time has deteriorated the condition even more. This will be a major decision that the Maharashtra Government will have to make as all the industries like malls, airlines, restaurants, gyms, local trains, main travel have already been approved through Cinema Halls have been remained shut so far.
