On Wednesday, BJP politician Ram Kadam posted images of Yakub Memon's burial and claimed that the grave was being converted into a Mazar. In the images, one could see that Memon's burial was being made more beautiful. The BJP MLA stated in a statement to the media, "Yakub Memon's grave, who carried out the 1993 Bombay bombings at Pakistan's command, was turned into a Mazar while Uddhav Thackeray served as Chief Minister. Is he displaying patriotism or love for Mumbai? He, Sharad Pawar, and Rahul Gandhi ought to apologise to the Mumbai residents."

The LED lights and other arrangements were removed as a result of the strong opposition this decision drew. According to ANI, the illumination at the burial site is being removed as of Thursday, September 8. There were police officers on the scene. The BJP leader's inquiry into the situation and assertion that attempts are being made to transform the executed terrorist's burial into a "Mazar" sparked outrage in the public.

The Mumbai Police has now commissioned an investigation into the event. A DCP rank-level officer will take the helm of the investigation into Memon's grave's ornamentation. Yakub Abdul Razzaq Memon, a member of the Memon family, was born in Mumbai on July 30, 1962. Memon began his studies as a chartered accountant in 1990 after enrolling in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Together with his boyhood buddy Chetan Mehta, Memon established the chartered accounting business "Mehta & Memon Associates."

He established "AR & Sons," another accounting firm. Named after his father, it was so prosperous that Memon received an award for being the "Best Chartered Accountant of the Year" from the Mumbai Memon community. In order to export beef products to the Middle East and Persian Gulf region, he also established the export firm "Tejrath International."
