Danve: The State Government should have been discussed before deciding for resuming local services
After continuous demand for resuming local trains for the general public, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray declared that people who have taken both the doses of the Covid 19 vaccine can travel in the Mumbai local trains from 15 August after which Union Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve provoked a row by stating that the Maharashtra government should have discussed with the Railways before making the announcement.

“The decision by the state government to resume local trains for the general public is welcomed and it will be started as soon there is demand. But if the state government would have discussed it before taking the decision it would have been better. Still, we will respond positively to the Maharashtra government’s decision and will run the trains,” stated Danve.

After hearing from the Railway Ministry Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut stated that whatever decisions have been taken by the state government are taken following the protocols. “The Chief Minister declared the date of resuming local train services for the general public who have been administered with both the doses of the Covid 19 vaccine as August that means there is still time and both the State and Centre’s agencies may have initiated discussions on the issue already,” stated Sanjay Raut.
