Shivsainiks have reacted angrily to the mutiny of Eknath Shinde and 35 Shivsena MLAs. Shivsainiks in Mumbai has ripped posters and blackened images of dissident MLAs. Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray and his son have met with their District Presidents, Vibhag Pramukhs, Corporators, and Shakaha Pramukhs in an attempt to keep them loyal to the party.

Shivsainiks had hoped that rebel MLAs would return, but after three days of mutiny, Shivsainiks had lost their cool. Shivsainiks in the Kurla area have ripped MLA Mangesh Kudalkar's posters outside his party office. On certain Kudalkar posters, black ink was splattered. Similarly, in Chandivali, enraged Shivsainiks tore down posters of MLA Dilip Lande. Meanwhile, Shivsainiks in Ahmadnagar blackened Eknath Shinde's banner.

Rajesh Kshirsagar, former Shiv Sena MLA from Kolhapur constituency, also abandoned Shiv Sena leadership, prompting enraged Shivsainiks to march to his residence and protest. Shivsainiks who took part in the movement informed the media, "We don't care if 56 MLAs have defected from the government. We would assist Uddhav Thackeray in gaining 156 MLAs. We are all behind our leaders. However, the rebel should understand that we Shivsainik elected them to the legislature."
