Satej Patil, Maharashtra's Minister of State for Home and Information Technology, aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday for criticizing Congress for assisting migrant workers in returning home after the COVID-19 lockdown was announced abruptly.

"The Central Government's shamelessness knows no bounds!" "When lakhs of labourers were trekking back to their villages on the road, Maharashtra Congress stood by them and did everything we could to alleviate their suffering," Patil remarked. Patil further stated that the Maharashtra Congress assisted thousands of labourers and their beleaguered family members, including hundreds of pregnant women, in relocating to their houses.

"Didn't Prime Minister Modi observe pregnant women travelling hundreds of kilometres? Hundreds of workmen died in the sweltering heat while the BJP government remained silent. "I'm proud of all the members of Congress who went above and beyond for fellow Indians during this crisis," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi blasted the Congress in an address to the Lok Sabha on Monday, claiming that the Maharashtra Congress gave free seats to migrants. "During the country's stringent lockdown, Congress leaders stood at Mumbai train stations and offered free train tickets, encouraging refugees to flee the city." "As a result, there was an increase in instances in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar," Modi remarked.
