NCP leader Supriya Sule expressed amazement on Tuesday at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claim that Maharashtra supported the development of COVID-19 in other states, and wondered why he "harboured such venom" for the state that voted overwhelmingly for him to become the country's top executive.
"I'm curious as to why the Prime Minister enjoys continuously criticizing Maharashtra, relocating significant projects out of the state, and denigrating the importance of Mumbai. It is regrettable "Here's what Sule had to say to the media. "Maharashtra has never bowed down to Delhi's authority and will never do so," claimed the Lok Sabha member from Baramati.
Sule claimed that the Prime Minister's charges against Maharashtra in his reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address lacked scientific support. Modi has previously stated, "What did the members of
Congress do? They set up shop at Mumbai railway stations and handed out free tickets to entice people to leave the city. They encouraged individuals to depart in order to relieve Maharashtra's burden. You travel to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Go ahead and distribute Corona there. You committed this sin and produced a chaotic environment ".
She added that when the pandemic unfolded in March 2020, Trinamool Congress member Saugata Roy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a request to defer Parliament's session. "However, the Prime Minister ignored his appeal since these persons were engaged destabilizing the Madhya Pradesh government," Sule alleged.
On the charge that Maharashtra encouraged the development of Covid in other states, Sule countered that it was the Centre that ran special trains to transport migrant workers to their homes. "Then-Railway Minister Piyush Goyal talked about running 125 special trains in March 2020, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis hailed the Centre for running special trains to transport migrant workers to the state," she claimed.

Harish Dwivedi, a BJP member who launched the debate in the Lok Sabha, commended the Centre for running special trains, she added. "Yet the Prime Minister claims Maharashtra sent migrant workers back to other states," Sule remarked.
