The Shiv Sainik is known to play their Maratha card ahead of any elections, look forward to taking out that card for the approaching Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022. The Urban Development Department in the state of Maharashtra under the control of Shiv Sena nodded for a proposal for a policy giving additional increments to the employees of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), though only for those employees who have completed their post-graduation in Marathi subject.

The proposal of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) policy was passed on by UDD Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday. The total beneficiaries of the policy will be 1,489 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) employees which will be putting a load of Rs 52.63 lakh on the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The policy of giving increment was started in 2011, for the promotion of the Marathi language in the state of Maharashtra. This policy in 2015 came to an end when the sixth pay commission came into effect, which had increased the burden on the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The policy was being followed by Sunil Prabhu the Shiv Sena legislator, stating that he also had written to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray about this issue. It is not the first time when the Shiv Sena was playing the card of Maratha, in a recent fast-tracked construction was named as Marathi Bhasha Bhavan at Marine Drive in the city of Mumbai instead of naming it as Navi Mumbai. The Marathi language is headed by the Shiv Sena in the state of Maharashtra.
