Shiv Sena goes Green ahead of BMC polls

The Shiv Sena has slammed the BMC’s latest development plan that proposes of opening up of 5000 acres of lsalt pan land and no-development zones across Mumbai to create affordable housing.
 
Senior leaders of the Shiv Sena said that environment is high on the party agenda for the 2017 BMC Elections. Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray was approached by several activists after the DCR proposals were unveiled on Wednesday, and he has assured the environmentalists of all support,” a senior Sena functionary said.
 
 
Uddhav’s son Aaditya, in-charge of the Yuva Sena (party’s youth wing) confirmed the development on Twitter. “Uddhavji has given his suggestions and concerns regarding the revised development plan.
 
Touching the no-development zones and green zones being major concerns. These will be formally presented in the BMC general body by the party,” Aaditya tweeted.
