BMC Elections 2022
After the Covid-19 pandemic and the separation from the rebel faction led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the Shiv Sena held its inaugural rally at Shivaji Park, drawing members of the party and supporters from all over Maharashtra. Shiv Sainiks of all ages chanted anti-Shinde chants and vowed to support the party.

Dadar station was jam-packed with passengers from Nagpur, Pune, Nashik, Marathwada, Kolhapur, Solapur, Ratnagiri, and other regions of the state, while crowded buses took fans straight to the ground. They yelled, "Uddhav Saheb Aage Badho, Hum Tumahare Saath hai," and "Shiv Sena Aamchya Hakkachi Nahi Konachya Bappachi" (Shiv Sena is our right and no one else's prerogative) as they made their way to Shivaji Park.

The phrase "Yes, we are loyal to Thackerays, Gaddarana Shama Nahi (betrayers will not be forgiven)" was printed on several young Shiv Sainiks' T-shirts. Senior citizens from Kolhapur travelled a great distance to supporting Uddhav Thackeray's faction. We arrived early in the day, and we'll spend the night at the train station. We came here because of our passion for the party, claimed Madhukar Bhosale and Balwant Kavade, a farmer from Kolhapur who is 72 years old. Kisan Tambe from Goregaon, a doppelganger of the late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe, was another draw.

With a scorching torch in hand and a promise to see Uddhav Thackeray back in that position, the party's female wing arrived. Even as the audience yelled, "Yes, we are loyal," Balgopal Sangh from Kandil Galli in Mahim offered a 48-foot light in favour of Uddhav. Several senior party members remarked, "Today he is alone and betrayed, but we won't quit him because we are not in the party for money or power.

Shakil Khureshi, a party worker (Upshakha pramukh) from Colaba, arrived at Shivaji Park on foot. For the previous ten years, I have been to the Dussehra rally. The rebels will never be pardoned by us. Such traitors are not necessary for the Shiv Sena. Voters would teach them a lesson, he predicted.
