Sanjay Raut, a member of the Shiv Sena (UT) party, weighed in on The Kashmir Files controversy by supporting Nadav Lapid, the head of the IFFI jury, who called Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files "vulgar" and "propaganda." The Sena MP stated when speaking with the media, "About the Kashmir Files, it's accurate. One side engaged in propaganda against another. Publicity was the focus of a party and the administration. But following the release of this movie, Kashmir saw the most murders. Security forces and Kashmiri Pandits were slain."

Nobody came forward back then, and there were no plans for a Kashmir Files 2.0, so make that too, he continued. "Where were these Kashmir Files people then? The children of Kashmiri Pandits were also protesting, where were they then? The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which is taking place in Goa, has a jury headed by Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid, who has denounced the inclusion of Vivek Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" on the list as "propaganda, vulgar movie."

Lapid can be heard saying in the video, "We were all surprised and upset by the film The Kashmir Files. We thought it was a crass, propagandist film that had no place in the aesthetic competition of such a prominent film festival. I feel at ease discussing my emotions with you because the festival's spirit can truly accept constructive criticism "Lapid declared.

A formal statement was released by the judging board of the 53rd International Film Festival (IFFI) in Goa on the controversy that has arisen as a result of Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid's criticism of "The Kashmir Files" as "propaganda" and "vulgar." Lapid remarked how "the jury was horrified and shocked" that "The Kashmir Files" was exhibited at the film festival in his speech during the IFFI 2022 closing ceremony.

"We were all horrified and disturbed by the fifteenth movie, The Kashmir Files. That seemed like a crass, propagandist film that had no place in the aesthetic competition of such a prominent film festival. At this point, I feel completely at ease discussing these feelings with you here. We can certainly embrace a critical conversation in the spirit of this festival, which is necessary for art and life "He had spoken.
