The Diwali gift scheme for 1.5 crores users of ration cards would receive 513 million rupees, according to a government resolution from the Maharashtra Government. Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, declared a Diwali present during the cabinet meeting that was held on October 4. His administration would receive Rava (sooji), Chana Dal, Groundnuts, 1 kg of Sugar, and 1 kg of Palm oil for Rs 100.

The Shinde-Fadnavis administration has stated that these goods will be given for a month via an e-pass system. A budget of Rs. 486.94 crores has been approved by the cabinet for the same.
