The Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS), led by former MP Raju Shetti and allied to the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi, is dissatisfied with the state government's functioning and indifference. "At this time, no decision has been made to terminate the alliance."

Last year, Shetti arranged the Panchganga Parikrama Yatra to aid flood victims. Following his discussion with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, he promised flood-affected farmers that the state government will assist them. Shetti, on the other hand, laments that the promises have yet to be fulfilled because the announcements are still on the paper.

Shetti has also recently begun an agitation for the farmers' uninterrupted electricity supply and non-disconnection. "The decision which was taken by the Maha Vikas Aghadi governments on land acquisition and compensation was anti-farmer, and it was much worse than the Modi government's Land Acquisition Bill, which was eventually cancelled due to significant farmer resistance." SSS is also opposed to paying sugarcane growers a fair and remunerative price in two installments," Shetti added. Farmers will only receive 30% compensation under the state land acquisition laws, he noted.

Shetti, who is dissatisfied with his lack of nomination in the state legislative council from the NCP's quota, recently wrote to NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, highlighting several difficulties and requesting his assistance as well as that of the MVA government for redress.
