Previous collusion accomplices go head to head each other in BMC political race 2022

Since the Sena-BJP split in 2019, the political dynamics in the state have changed.  After this, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election will be a tough contest for the Sena as it will go head-to-head with the BJP. With one year left in the BMC elections, all parties have already begun preparations.

As  the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepares for a high-decibel campaign for the February 2022 municipal elections, the ruling Shiv Sena has quietly started working on the ground in the wake of the recent Hyderabad municipal elections. On the one hand, the Congress has announced that it will contest the BMC elections on its own, with rumours circulating that the Shiv Sena and the NCP may contest the BMC elections together.

The BJP has already announced that it will hoist its 'pure' saffron flag at the BMC headquarters and has started preparations on the ground.  The BJP, on the other hand, trained its spokespersons while recruiting party officials at the grassroots level. The BJP does not want to be flexible in any way in the BMC elections.  The Shiv Sena left the BJP and formed a government in 2019 with the Congress and the NCP following a dispute over the chief ministership.  With the formation of the MVA government in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena left its alliance with the BMC and the BJP.  So the BJP now wants to take control of the BMC.
