Sharad Pawar, the leader of the NCP, asserted that his party was ready for elections on Friday but denied being an astrologer to forecast the longevity of the government. According to Pawar, the government must give those impacted by flooding and heavy rains prompt relief.

"We are closely monitoring the way the government is operating. Our responsibility is to see the flaws and errors in how the government operates and to speak up in order to protect the democratic system we helped to establish. Following the lead of opposition leader Ajit Pawar, who is currently in the Vidarbha region assessing the damage caused by natural fury, the Chief Minister and deputy Chief Minister should visit the affected areas rather than making announcements, according to Pawar, who arrived in Nashik to attend party meetings.

He made fun of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for going on a three-day felicitation trip but avoiding the areas devastated by the recent flooding and severe rains. The Supreme Court's judgement directing the State Election Commission to hold elections for 92 Nagar Parishads and 4 Nagar Panchayats in the lack of an OBC quota alarmed Pawar, who expressed concern over it.
