The BJP has come out against the BMC's 'water for all' policy, a day after State Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray declared it. Yogesh Sagar, a BJP MLA, wrote to BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, seeking that all Mumbai MLAs be summoned to discuss the problem of equitable water distribution.

In the letter, Sagar expresses his opposition to contacting Aaditya for the water supply meeting. "As the administrator, you're summoning some ministers to appease them," he explained. Instead, you should convene a meeting of all MLAs to examine the city's water problems."

In the letter, Sagar also stated that he had highlighted this issue in the Maharashtra State Assembly's lower chamber. I've been talking about this subject and bringing it up in the BMC's standing committee ever since "Water distribution should be proportional to population density in urban and suburban areas." He claimed that when he first became an MLA in 2009, he discussed this problem on the state assembly floor.

"Even now, whenever there is a water issue, officials from the BMC's department seek my assistance and address the problem with me," he wrote in the letter. When Devendra Fadnavis was Chief Minister, he delivered a presentation to the BMC's committee of experts on the water issue and the committee's report was presented to the BMC and the state government, according to Sagar.
