The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is searching for a project management consultant to oversee the design and implementation of late Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray's immersive museum at the Mayor's house, Shivaji Park. Immersive museums are becoming increasingly popular around the world, owing to their utilization of virtual and artificial intelligence technology.

Balasaheb's immersive museum, according to MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner SVR Srinivas, will depict the leader's and his party's history in an audio-visual style. It will include photographs, talks, artwork, and a small library. The museum will be divided into sections where visitors can view a 2D-3D presentation of his accomplishments and struggles.

According to the MMRDA, a request for proposal has been issued for the project management consultant's employment. Bidders can submit their bids online until March 24. In addition, a pre-bid meeting via video conference has been set for March 11 at 3 P.M.
According to Srinivas, civil work on the memorial is now continuing, with more than 30% of it done. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray laid the foundation stone for his late father's national memorial in March 2021. After four years of planning for the Rs 400-crore memorial, the BMC transferred the sea-facing property previously owned by the Mayor to the trust.
