Mandatory Yoga, Surya Namaskar in Schools proposed by BJP Corporator Samita Kamble

BJP Corporator from Mulund, Samita Kamble, has moved a proposal to make Yoga and Surya Namaskar mandatory in the 1285 BMC schools, to maintain fitness amongst students.
 
While a discussion on this proposal is awaited, the Shiv Sena is of the idea that training in martial arts would be more fruitful.
 
The proposal is expected to be hotly opposed by the Samajwadi Party, which has said this would amount to “mixing of education and religion”.
