Malad BJP Corporator passes away at 75

The Former Deputy Mayor and Malad Corporator, Ram Barot took his last breath on Sunday afternoon. In his earlier life, he was a six-time Corporator continuously from the year 1992. He lost the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections in the year 1985, which was his first time. After which he contested the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections once again in the year 1992 and this time he won, with flying colours after which he never looked back. 

 

In 2014, late former Deputy Mayor and Malad Corporator Ram Barot had contested for the MLA from the Malad Assembly but he could not win the seat. The elections were lost by 2000 votes. “As he was having some health issues from past many times due to which he was admitted to the hospital some time ago and was declared by the hospital as in critical condition. He was the chairman of many statutory Civic Committees in the earlier times,” stated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Corporator and group leader Vinod Mishra, who is also from Malad. 

 

“He was a person who was very honest for the people, Barot also worked in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) together from the year 2000, when I was elected in the civic by-election. Ram Barot had a very great aura of winning, and was a very positive person due to which he would win every seat in the constituency he contested,” stated MLA Yogesh Sagar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
