Maharashtra Political Crisis: Shiv Sainiks express their support for Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on social media

As the Shiv Sena reeled from the defection of urban development minister Eknath Shinde and his followers, some Shiv Sainiks took to social media to voice their support for Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Given the likelihood of a schism in the Sena, many fans expressed their emotions on social media, urging party activists to stick together.
"'I will not abandon the saffron flag even if I am the only one left in the party," stated one Shiv Sainik's messages, which included a portrait of the late Bal Thackeray. In addition, an old video of Sena's founder is being shared on social media. In the video, Bal Thackeray can be heard threatening, "beat MLAs if they deceive Shiv Sena and join other parties."
Similarly, another article stated that the Shiv Sena does not rely on the support of MLAs and MPs, but rather on the support of ordinary Shiv Sainiks. Messages like "I am with Shiv Sena and will continue with Shiv Sena" were spreading like wildfire on social media. Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, a Sena Corporator and former mayor tweeted a photo of the party's bow and arrow insignia with the phrase 'Nishtha,' which means loyalty.
