Devendra Fadnavis, the Maharashtra Assembly's Leader of the Opposition, questioned State Minister Jayant Patil if he had any objections to BJP MLAs attending a screening of the Hindi film "The Kashmir Files" on Wednesday. Patil retaliated by saying the film is "boring after the interval" and that Fadnavis should ask the film's producer to contribute the film's profits to help displaced Kashmir Pandits build homes.

Patil had taken a jab at the BJP MLAs on Tuesday for attending the film's screening while the state Assembly was still in session, stating that the movie was more important to them than the state's development challenges. He was reportedly referring to a special screening of the film on Tuesday evening hosted by BJP leader Kripa Shankar Singh.

"The minister spoke (about attending the screening) yesterday," Fadnavis said in the Lower House on Wednesday. We had made up our minds and viewed 'The Kashmir Files' the day before yesterday." "Do you have any reservations about it?" We did see it. If you have a problem, you should talk about it outside (the House)," he remarked.

In response to the BJP leader, Patil stated that the film is "boring and not interesting" after the intermission. "See, you (BJP leaders) are aware of it. If you're applauding the film, it cost Rs 17 crore to make and made Rs 150 crore. "Ask the film's producer to donate the profits to help Kashmiri Pandits build homes," the state's water resources minister stated. Earlier, Fadnavis claimed that opposition members were not given enough time in the House to address their concerns. Patil, on the other hand, denied the accusation.
