Litterbugs in Andheri continue practice despite installation of dustbins

The local Shiv Sena corporator of K/E ward Sandhya Yadav installed trash bins in Jogeshwari East area last week, to keep the surroundings garbage free.
Local residents said that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) vans come to pick up the garbage regularly but pedestrians and residents still throw garbage on the footpath. Locals have welcomed the move of the local corporator to install the wet and dry waste bin The bins have been installed since a week, but people continue to litter the road.
Yadav has installed eight bins in the stretch from Nagardas Road and Pump House, out of which, four are dry waste bins. The corporator has appealed to the residents to use the bins and keep the city clean under the ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ initiative.
