Shiv Sena: It should be made sure by the Ruling Party that seeds of division are not sown
“August 14 now will be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 75th Independence Day celebration. Soon after this declaration was made by the Prime Minister, Shiv Sena attacked him stating that it should be made sure by the ruling party that new seeds of division should not be sown. Shiv Sena further targeting the Prime Minister said by just this symbolism the pain of partition will not be removed which took place on August 14, 1947.

The attack on the ruling party by the Shiv Sena was done through the Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana, criticising further the editorial said similar to the pain of partition, the movement of Kashmiri Pandits was equally painful, but they have not returned to the valley.

“By just declaring a symbolism the pain of partition will not vanish but instead a precise action is required. We could have achieved a lot if the Kashmiri Pandits who were displaced would have got their rights and shelter to live in the Kashmir Valley. Many Congress leaders were in favour of the two-nation theory like Veer Savarkar, Hindu Mahasabha. The BJP then had not seen its dawn,” stated the Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana.

The Shiv Sena which is in a coalition of the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the state of Maharashtra, in its editorial further said that only Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was able to take revenge of the pain of partition by dividing Pakistan and destroying the concept of two nations, the crux of formation of Pakistan.
