Congress corporator Sushama Salunkhe has demanded that the Delhi government’s odd-even formula be implemented in the city as it would help in reducing the air pollution in the city.

In her letter to the civic health committee, she said that Mumbaikars face several health problems due to the air pollution in the city caused by large number of vehicles in the city and if the odd-even rule is implemented, it will be a big relief for the citizens.

Her demand comes on the heels of the AAP led Delhi government’s pollution control plan,in which vehicles that have odd and even numbers are allowed on road only on alternate days. The odd-even scheme has also received good response from the people of Delhi and is likely to be back for a second phase.
