Corporator resigns after accident kills student

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator Rakhi Jadhav submitted her resignation to the municipal chief Ajoy Mehta following the death of a student in a road accident in Ghatkopar.A 7 year old boy was killed and two others were seriously injured when a school bus hit them while crossing the link road.
The corporator claimed that she has been demanding a pedestrian subway from the past four years , but the civic officials didn’t paid any attention. However, the municipal commissioner promptly issued her a written letter assuring that suitable measures would soon be taken.
Jadhav had also given a written complaint to the Pant Nagar police station in Ghatkopar on Thursday seeking action against the guilty officials who were responsible for the subway not being constructed.
