A viewing deck near the northern side of Girgaum Chowpatty was inaugurated by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, his wife Rashmi Thackeray, and son Aditya Thackeray, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Aditya Thackeray has requested the name of the gallery be changed to Pramod Navalkar, the late Shiv sena leader. During his time as an MLA, he strove to improve the area.

According to BMC, the gallery has a total space of 483 square metres and can accommodate 500 people at a time. According to a BMC official, the project was finished in less than eight months and cost roughly Rs. 4 crores. He also stated that because the land lies within a CRZ and a heritage site, BMC had to obtain numerous licences from the federal and state governments before building.

In the evening, visitors can enjoy the view of the sea waves and the Queen's Necklace on Marine Drive. When the media queried Aditya Thackeray about Raj Thackeray's tour of Ayodhya and Aurangabad after the event, he said: "Our journey to Ayodhya was to see the Ram Mandir being built. At the time of our visit, the Ram Mandir case was still pending before the Supreme Court. At the time, our slogan was "Pehle Mandir baad main Sarkar." Anyone who wishes to visit Ayodhya now has the opportunity to do so."
He also stated that because the state government is promoting tourism in Aurangabad, Raj Thackeray may have intended to visit the city.
