Chembur’s Jaitwan Garden gets a facelift, after lying neglected for years

The renovation of Jaitwan Garden in Sahakar Nagar of Chembur had begun last month, said BMC’s M/W ward officials.
 
SR Nikalje, sub-engineer, maintenance department, BMC, said that the garden was lying in a poor condition and needed to be revamped.Most of the work has  been completed with the help of Shiv Sena corporator Sanjana Kishor Mungekar (ward no. 160) and the garden will be totally revamped in the next fifteen days.
 
 
The residents had earlier complained about the poor condition of the garden with most of the branches broken, jogging tracks left unmaintained and devoid of adequate greenery.
 
The total cost of the renovation is Rs 45 lakh and it will be ensured that the garden is equipped with modern amenities, said Nikalje.
