The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has officially written to the state election Commission for the instructions on the rectification of some electoral wards. According to the officials from the election division, there have been eight letters from politicians and people complaining about the adjustments in ward boundaries that were made in 2017.

Earlier the Congress party had written the same to the election physique looking for the correction in not less than 45 ward boundaries. Congress said that BJP allegedly modified the ward boundaries for their benefit throughout the civic polls in 2017. Election officials stated that if we will go for the changes in the ward boundaries then suggestions and objections from the public will be called, a proper hearing will be organized and after the entire process, the rectified ward boundaries will be published.

According to BMC officials, the complete rectification process shall be done under the supervision of an IAS officer appointed by the SEC. In 2017, BMC got 13 recommendations and complaints from politicians after the rectification of 227 electoral ward boundaries.
