After being appointed as the chairman of the best company, Shiv Sena leader Ashish Chemburkar issued the first proposal to buy around 200 double-decker buses.  This is the fifth time in the last two decades that Chemburkar has been elected Best Chairman.  “Double-decker buses are like an identity of excellent undertaking.  They have an important place in urban history.  Do not lose the legacy of Mumbai, so I have suggested buying 200 new double decker buses, not 100.  Even the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) should provide financial assistance for this,”Chemburkar said in his address.

As of today, 100 automatic transmissions have placed best orders for Bharat standard sixth class and non-AC double decker buses with automatic doors. At the same time, it has a legal obligation to maintain the number of 3,337 buses approved in the memorandum signed with BMC and trade unions on June 11, 2019.  Chemburkar said the venture was needed to bring out the ways and out-of-the-box ideas to improve its financial position.

He said several of Best's plots were involved in legal disputes and if he could mediate in such cases, it would bring in crores of rupees in profits.  He said BEST would try to maintain a steady power supply during monsoons and avoid power outages.
