BMC Elections 2022
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to build a tree house in Bandra Fort near Bandstand to attract tourists from India and beyond. The BMC has presented a proposal to the Standing Committee (SC) for the hiring of a contractor to build a tree house at Bandra Fort. After factoring in taxes and other costs, the BMC has asked the SC for permission to spend Rs.1 crore 6 lakh on the project.

The contractor will be required to do a soil survey as well as prepare a Tree House design, according to the proposal. The contractor will also inspect the equipment's quality, according to the plan. BMC Assistant Commissioner (Planning) has chosen to build a tree house at the Bandra Fort near Bandstand, following the directive of Guardian Minister of Suburb Aaditya Thackeray to implement various schemes to beautify Mumbai.

As a result, a proposal was drawn up and presented to the Suburban and District Planning Commission's Collector. The Collector then promised the BMC that he would contribute Rs. 1 crore. The BMC issued a tender invitation in December 2021. Following that, tenders were held on January 14, 2022, with M/s Virgo Specialities Private Limited winning the contract but asking for 14.90 percent more than the anticipated cost. The total cost was projected to be Rs 86,20,000. The BMC officers met with the client again, negotiated the price, and got the firm to pay 6.90% more than the anticipated price.

"In Pondicherry, these kinds of tree houses are being built. As a result, the contractor will construct a tree house in Pondicherry and only put it together here. The tree house's whole structure would be composed of wood. We have given the contractor six months to complete the project "Kiran Dighavkar stated.

The BJP, on the other hand, slammed the project, saying that "such operations are now being undertaken before of the election," as party Corporator and SC member Vinod Mishra told Free Press. The BMC lacks cash for education and footpath upkeep, but they spend a lot of money on such initiatives."
