To demolish the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Parekh Nagar in Kandivali, the Bridges Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a tender of Rs. 30.15 crores. Following that, BMC will build a new vehicular bridge there. The civic organisation has stated that the new bridge will be built as well as the FOB demolished within 18 months.

The Bridges Department Engineer claims that "From the perspective of the general public, this bridge was important because there was only one flyover from Our Lady Church near Raghuleela Mall that went further to the Charkop region. You will learn there is always a traffic delay if you go there. Following the building of the new flyover bridge, this traffic jam will now become a reality. This bridge will link Poisar Gymkhana with Kandivali West SV Road."

The officer stated that this four-lane bridge will be 300 metres long and 27 by 18 metres wide. Kandivali West BJP corporator Priyanka More stated, "It has been a long-requested bridge. Even though Kandivali station is not that far away, residents of Mahavir Nagar must endure heavy traffic and pay Rs 50 for an autorickshaw in order to get there. The Swami Vivekanand School pupils will benefit from this planned bridge as well. Once built, this bridge will connect to neighbouring bridges, increasing access to Borivali."
