BMC introduces slew of new restrictions

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday issued an order allowing food and other essentials to be delivered to your doorstep through online service providers.  The service is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This step was taken to prevent people from going out in the middle of a pandemic.

 

During the working days from April 4 to April 30, the Shiv Sena-led government announced a weekend lockdown and night curfew.  And in addition to certain other restrictions, such as the closure of private offices, theatres, and saloons to prevent a jump in Covid.  19 cases. BMC also allowed street food stalls such as fruit vendors to provide take-away services during the weekend lockdown.  Following a meeting of the state chief secretary with the municipal commissioners and district authorities, the Mumbai Citizens' Committee issued an order saying, "No one is allowed to stand or eat there."

 

The order also states that individuals will not be allowed to visit restaurants during the weekend lockdown to collect take-away boxes. However, servicing senior citizens and sick people, including housekeepers, cooks, drivers, nurses and medical staff, will be allowed every day between 7am and 10pm, including weekend lockdowns during control. The Maharashtra government has allowed eye clinics and optician shops to operate within the stipulated time frames. 

 

Students and candidates appearing for school and other competitive examinations will be allowed to travel within the city and their admit card will be considered valid for the same in addition, the order will allow a parent or guardian to accompany the student or candidate. In Mumbai, 10,428 new corona virus cases and 23 deaths were reported.  The death toll was 4,82,760 and the death toll was 11,851.  The weekend lockdown will last from 8pm on Fridays to 7am on Mondays.  In addition, other important orders will take effect during the day on weekdays.
