BMC Elections 2022
Fresh attacks are around the corner ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022. As the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) standing committee approved a request to boost the consultant's fee by Rs 7.29 crores on Wednesday, despite the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) claims of corruption in the coastal route project.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been vocal in its opposition to the idea and has demanded an investigation into the CAG's report's strictures. Instead of using multi-pile foundation technology, the contractor for Project II proposed that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) allow the use of monopile foundation technology. The existing project management companies (PMCs) do not, however, have the necessary experience. As a result, permission to use the services of select specialists from other nations was requested.
As a result, the PMC requested an increase in its fee of Rs 7.29 crores to cover the cost. BJP corporators brought the recent CAG remarks to the committee's attention during the standing committee meeting. They claimed that the consultants were being overpaid by Rs 215 crores. Furthermore, they claimed that Rs 142 crores was paid to contractors who did nothing during the lockdown.

Concerns have been raised by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) over the cost of consultants for the coastal road project. There's no way of knowing how much time and effort the consultant put into it. The initiative, according to Yashwant Jadhav, should be rejected. According to Jadhav, Sena received a majority of votes to pass the scheme with the aid of Congress.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) top leaders must first figure out how many there are and then request an investigation. Residents have long benefited from Sena's superior service. Using these ridiculous charges, the BJP is attempting to restrict construction work in the city. The Standing Committee delayed proposals totalling Rs 840 crores for consideration earlier this month.
