BMC elections 2022: BJP alleges scam of multi crore, in BMC’s trench filling bid
Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022, the war between the parties continues to be at its top level. In a recent attack, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and some corporators of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have slammed the Shiv Sena, claiming that a multi-core scam is taking place in a trench bid opened by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ruled by the Shiv Sena.

The attack from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ignited when the name of the bidders was shortlisted for the tender floated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) turned out to be the ones who the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporators had stated as the cartel of contractors that have been favoured by the Shiv Sena.

Soon after the allegations were levelled against the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), it responded that it will be looking into this matter and would verify the allegations before finalizing the contract. At the beginning of the month, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had passed a tender for hiring seven different contractors to reinstate utility trenches all over the seven municipal zones.

A day before the bidding was open the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wrote to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal alleging that the whole process of giving out tender is fixed. With this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader also submitted a list of seven contractors who will be given the contract.

As per the allegations made by Mishra, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, in total there are 14 such companies only who were able to meet the criteria of the tender for the contract. “I have displayed everything out the other day that how the nexus works, the list of companies that were displayed by me, came out the next day, which makes it very clear that how tenders are being operated by just some Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officers,” stated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator Vinod Mishra.
