BJP MP Kirit Somaiya announced that his party will go alone in the upcoming Civic Body Elections 2017. He added by taking a jibe at the Sena by saying that “the BJP would put an end to the den of corruption and mafia rule by one family in the BMC”.

“The BJP will contest the BMC elections on its own strength and win a handsome majority in the city hall on its own steam,” Somiaya told mediapersons on Wednesday.

He said that smaller parties like the Republican Party of India, the Rashtriya Samaj Party and the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana would be allying with BJP for the polls.

While BJP has snubbed it as a personal view of Kirit Somaiya, the mood within the Mumbai Unit of BJP is that if they do not get their expected share of seats (around 90-110), it will be better for the two allies to part ways.
