BJP starts 2022 Maharashtra civic polls preparations with booth campaigns and mobile application
With the Municipal Corporation’s elections approaching in six months, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started its on-ground poll preparations by building the party’s cadre in every district and training them to canvass among voters. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a campaign which has been named ‘Samarth Booth Abhiyaan’.

Under the campaign, every party MP, MLA, and District President have been directed to take responsibility for some number of booths in their constituencies. In the state of Maharashtra, there are a total of 90,000 booths of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which are the party’s smallest units in election campaigning.

The leaders who have been directed are assigned the work of personally addressing the booths, making sure that all the heads of the booths are appointed, and building a team under every booth head as part of the campaign. The campaign will be running from 1 to 31 August, state Bharatiya Janata Party leaders.

A mobile application has also been built by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) where all the personal data of heads of the booths will be uploaded and it will be available for all the key functionaries. “From all the elections held in the past what we have learned is that whoever has a pakka (solid) booth, is majboot (strong).  So that is the reason why we are strengthening our organizational structure.

If there are some weak booths, we will be building them and the appointment of people will be done. These booths will also be helpful for all the elections that will take place in the state, specifically the ten municipal corporation polls next year,” said Keshav Upadhye, Maharashtra BJP spokesperson. The cities where the civic polls will be done in early 2022 include Mumbai, Thane, Ulhasnagar, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Nashik, Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, and Solapur.
