BJP retaliates by boycotting Mayor’s award function

Last week Mayor Snehal Ambekar decided not to attend a programme at Dahisar in which CM Devendra Fadnavis was the chief guest. This time around, the BJP decided to give it back by boycotting the Mayor’s Award function on Thursday.
“The mayor had boycotted the Dahisar function for no reason. We decided toboycott her function as they had not taken us into confidence about the Thursday programme and hence violated protocol,” said BJP group leader Manoj Kotak.
With the Civic Polls only five months away, this spat has assumed a lot of significance. The two parties are yet to decide whether to contest the polls having a pre-poll alliance or no.
