BJP plans to woo the urban poor who have benefitted from the centre’s welfare schemes

The BJP is planning to reach out to those people who gave up the subsidised gas gylinders on PM Narendra Modi’s call.
 
By doing this, it is defining its targets as pretty clear; the traditional middle class vote bank and the urban poor
 
It has also set up communication cells in all the 227 wards of the city with nearly 9500 polling booth level committees being set up
 
There is a view within certain sections of the party that with BJP having 15 Mumbai MLA’s on its fold, this is their best chance to wrest the BMC from the Shiv Sena. Presently, the BJP’s strength in the BMC is only 32 seats against Sena’s 75 seats.
